Don't Give Up

Can you remember a time when you were in circumstances where it felt like it was pointless to keep going? Like “it’s never going to change, so why bother?” Maybe it was symptoms in your body that just kept rearing their ugly heads over and over for a long period of time. . . or maybe it was a wayward child that just seemed to keep moving farther and farther away from God for years. . . or a marriage that seemed like it was over and nothing could revive it. I think we all can relate. If you are not in a season like that now, that’s great because you can be there for someone who is. But if you are. . . hang on!

Because I bet you have also had overwhelming supernatural breakthroughs in the midst of those great impossibly dark times. Can you think of a time when it seemed like there was no way out, BUT GOD showed up on the scene just in the nick of time and resolved the situation for you? I try and write all those things down, because it helps to remind myself when these issues arise that it doesn’t surprise God and He’s already made a way through (Isaiah 43:19). He’s done it before, and He’ll do it again because He never leaves us (Deuteronomy 31:6 and 8, Joshua 1:5, Psalms 9:10, Psalms 94:14, Hebrews 13:5) and He always gives us the victory (1 Corinthians 15:57, Romans 8:31 and 37)! He says that our leaves will always be green, bearing fruit, and we don’t fear when the heat comes, because we have the eternal springs of life inside us (Jeremiah 17:8). . . and what God says, IS and STAYS because He doesn’t change His mind (James 1:17 Isaiah 55:11, Numbers 23:19, Joshua 21:45 and 23:14) !

It’s not just happenstance that the day the bill was due, someone pays you back a long-forgotten debt. Or when you didn’t know how you were going to make it because you were unemployed so long, but the right job came just when you had reached the end of your rope and all you had to hang onto was God and His promises. Or when that estranged friend that had gotten offended when you told them the Truth suddenly calls out of the blue to forgive and re-establish relationship. We always have a hope and a future, because HE says so (Jeremiah 29:11). So don’t give up! It’s not IF but WHEN! 😊 You WILL see your breakthrough if you don’t give up!
