Wisdom
I love that Daddy God has told us that we can have as much wisdom as we want from Him...we just have to ask (and listen to His answers)!
James 1:5-6 Amplified Bible
If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a
billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind.
James 1:5-6 Common English Bible
But anyone who needs wisdom should ask God, whose very nature is to give to everyone without a second thought, without keeping score. Wisdom will certainly be given to those who ask. Whoever asks shouldn’t hesitate. They should ask in faith, without doubting. Whoever doubts is like the surf of the sea, tossed and
turned by the wind.
When we do this as God wants us to and follow His leading, there are SOOOO many blessings. Not just for the sake of obedience (blessings for obedience listed in Deuteronomy 28:1-14 among other places), but because wisdom itself just automatically comes with them:
Proverbs 3:13-26 New International Version
Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew. My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.
I don’t know about you, but I certainly want wisdom! Let’s look again at the long list of benefits...prosperity (being empowered to prosper), pleasant ways and peaceful paths, long life, blessings that are evident to others, safety, secure and solid footing in life, freedom from fear, sweet sleep and protection from the Lord. Now those give us a lot to smile about and praise Him about! We can get all the wisdom we need, anytime,
anywhere and as much as we need, which automatically brings blessings...and the more we are blessed, the more blessing we can be to others, the better an ambassador for Christ we are, and the more people will be drawn to us to learn about the good God we serve!
