What We Believe & Core Values

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

The following are the core beliefs & values of Forgiven Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible.
All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

What We Believe

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed and function as one Entity. Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh, is the Second Member of the Godhead, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason.
(2 Tim 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12)

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through His son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the Holy Scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations. Man was created good and upright, for God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness." (Genesis 1:26-31)

The Fall & Redemption

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time. Man's only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised Him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

A) Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. On the cross, Jesus Christ became sin and sickness, providing both salvation and divine healing for all mankind (Psalm 103:3), being justified freely by His Grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. For by grace we are saved through faith. "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart; that is the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart. that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth, he confesses, resulting in salvation." We believe that man is saved by repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 10:8-10; Acts 20:21; Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24)

(B) The evidence of Salvation. The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. "And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us: (I John 3:23).

(C) Faith and works. Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however, our works will determine the rewards in eternity (Romans 10:9-19; II Cor. 4:10).

Baptism in Water

The ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed on Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in the newness of Life. We follow the New Testament example of baptism by immersion of the believer in water. (Matt 28:19; Acts 10:47, 48; Romans 6:4, Acts 8:34-38)

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Core Values

A Teaching & Preaching Ministry

We teach and preach the uncompromising Word of God, challenging God's people to grow into maturity in Christ.

A Faith Teaching Church

Teaching the truths of faith and the reality of living by it.
(Romans 1:17,  Hebrews 11:6)
We will, on occasions, bring in guest ministers, others of the 5-fold ministry, and speakers to help equip the saints of God to live effectively and do the work of the ministry.

Praise and Worship Ministry

A church that understands the importance of worshiping Jesus at all times, and experiencing the power of God in corporate worship. This is a place where expression is encouraged and praise is a priority. We encourage worshiping the way God told us to worship, in Spirit and in Truth, and setting an atmosphere that allows Him to move. Knowing that when we worship the way God instructed us to in His Word, God will manifest His presence in a stronger, more powerful way.

A Multi-Color Church

We believe there is only one race - the human race.  This is a place where anyone, from any background, with any skin color, and any age, can worship in unity, without prejudice, side by side. We endeavor to set a heaven saturated atmosphere where anyone no matter their skin color,  or their story, will always feel welcome.

A Spirit-Empowered Non-Denominational Church

A non-threatening atmosphere, independent from denominational teaching where God's people can worship without a sense of guilt or condemnation, yet under the covering of proven, respectable ministries. A ministry that encourages the flow of the Holy Spirit and sensitivity to His promptings. A church where the Gifts of the Spirit are welcomed and encouraged.

Media Ministry

Reaching the world for Jesus while using all avenues of media, to impact lives as we build God's Kingdom together.

Outreach Ministry

Teaching, training, and encouraging God's people to be Jesus in their World through many avenues of outreach, such as going to the streets, jails, hospitals, working food banks, and any place Holy Spirit tells us to go. We will be no respecter of persons and will help men, women, and children of all color and background, regardless of economic status.

Traveling Ministry

Building the church in Indiana, and going out and impacting the world via conferences, guest speaking, mission trips, etc.

Young Adult's Ministry

When God formed us, He knew that we would long for relationships with others. We strive to give you the opportunity to form healthy relationships with others so that you don't have to face this world alone. This is a place to look for friendships that will last a lifetime! We encourage each other, pray for one another, and challenge each other to go to deeper levels with God.
Our goal is to form positive, healthy relationships with each other.
