Think of What He Went Through

This powerful message challenges us to reconsider how we respond to life's difficulties by examining what Christ endured for us. Drawing from Hebrews 12, we're instructed not just to briefly acknowledge Jesus' suffering, but to truly 'think of' it—to study, ponder, and deliberate on the magnitude of what He went through. The original language suggests this is a Selah moment, a pause for deep reflection. When we genuinely consider the beatings, the rejection, the cross, and everything Jesus faced, our trials suddenly appear much smaller. The message reminds us that discouragement isn't caused by external circumstances but by internal thought patterns—meaning we have a choice in how we respond. Paul's extensive list of hardships in 2 Corinthians serves as another powerful example, yet he called these 'light afflictions.' We're encouraged to fix our gaze not on present troubles but on eternal promises, much like a marathon runner focuses on the finish line rather than the pain. This perspective shift transforms our anthills back into their proper size instead of allowing them to become mountains in our minds.
